Miami lands commitments from Carrollton cousins CJ Cypher and Kweli Fielder

The University of Miami has commitments from Carrollton High School teammates and cousins CJ Cypher and Kweli Fielder. The two players made their commitments in June 2026.

Cypher is a quarterback from Carrollton, Georgia, with a 2029 graduation year. Carrollton Trojan Athletics lists him on the school’s varsity football roster, while Georgia Public Broadcasting also identifies him as a Miami commit.

Fielder gives Miami another Carrollton connection on the offensive line. He is a 2028 four-star offensive lineman from Carrollton, Georgia, and the school’s roster lists him with a 2028 graduation year. Georgia Public Broadcasting identifies him as Carrollton’s left tackle and a Miami commit.

Cypher’s production helped define Carrollton’s 2026 regular season. The Trojans went 10-0, and Cypher finished the regular season with 3,164 passing yards, 48 touchdowns and no interceptions.

The two Carrollton players also drew broad college interest. Georgia Public Broadcasting listed 29 college offers for Cypher and 32 additional offers for Fielder.

The available information places both commitments within the same Carrollton program while separating their roles: Cypher is the quarterback, and Fielder is an offensive lineman. Their graduation years also differ, with Cypher listed for 2029 and Fielder for 2028.
